This Weeks Sunday School Topic: NOTHING'S GOING TO BE THE SAME

Posted on Sun, Jun 16, 2013

At Talbot Chapel, "church starts in Sunday School!" The theme for our Sunday School lessons this quarter is: "BEYOND THE PRESENT TIME" - Studies in Daniel, Luke, Acts, 1&2 Thessalonians and 1&2 Peter

Talbot Chapel SUNDAY SCHOOL ADDENDUM

NOTHING'S GOING TO BE THE SAME

UNIT I: THE PROPHET AND PRAISE

Lesson 4 - JUNE 23, 2013
Devotional Reading: Is. 42:1-9.

Background Scripture: Is. 65

Scripture: Isaiah 65:17-21, 23-25.

KEY VERSE: I am about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating. Isaiah 65:17:18.

CENTRAL THOUGHT: God cares about creation and will make all things new.

LESSON OBJECTIVE To help the participants identify the changes Isaiah claims God will make in the new creation.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:  This lesson text has great meaning for Israelites exiled for decades in Babylon, far from their homeland of Jerusalem in the Holy Land of Israel. They had suffered in many ways in a strange land, but their God was with them even there. Now the Prophet Isaiah brings a brand new message from God about their restoration, recreation, or renewal. Different interpretations have gone into this passage of promise from God for the people of God. Even we today have our own stamp of hope it brings. People desperately long for a time when there will be no more weeping and crying and the earth will be a place of happiness and peace. Will that time ever come? The God of truth and Creator of the earth promised through Isaiah that someday God's children would be so blessed.

LESSON OUTLINE

I. God's Promise of Recreation: Isaiah 65:17:21.

II. God's Peaceful Ideal for the Creation: Vv. 23-25.

This Week's Lesson
Seems like this topic has been on my mind a lot lately, "enjoy life while you have the opportunity". Too many people are dying without having even attempted the things they most greatly desire or that God has (had) planned for them. Also, I think living for God and enjoying the world have been in conflict (in our minds) forever. This is the main reason why so many stray from the goodness and mercy of God; they are afraid they will miss something that lies in the world. Rest assured that loving God doesn't mean missing out. In fact, it means gaining more, enjoying more, loving more. Thank you Jesus for all you have and continue to do for me.

Does anyone have any ice breaker idea's dealing with This Sunday school lessons "Living in Harmony with others" or on "Forgiveness". This Sunday will be my first time teaching Sunday school and I would like to try something different with the lesson topic.

Sunday School Lesson
Thank you for providing the introduction for Sunday school, it really helps the smaller churches. However, where is the discussion for the lessons? Is there a link to retreive the remainder of the lesson?
